An Unlikely Ashley Madison Advocate!

I found this article about the Ashley Madison Agency and it’s current owner, Noel Biderman, on Psychology Today. I have to say that I was surprised and found the author, Stephen Mason, Ph.D. to be an unlikely advocate for the site known for peddling adultery.
Then again, maybe not.
As a psychologist well educated in the emotional and behavioral characteristics of humans, he came to many of the same conclusions that I had regarding the ethical and moral issues of such a site.
The infamous married dating site, AshleyMadison.com is simply a stellar example of the American business model and the entrepreneurial spirit that drives it.
Find a need, fill it, and make lots and lots of money. To hell with the consequences.

There are only two things in his article that I found misleading. The first being that the Ashley Madison site is “new” – hardly! It’s been around since at least 2002! The second was Noel Biderman’s claim to be the “founder”. I really hate it when people take all of the credit for someone else’s great idea!
Maybe the original founder wasn’t quite as into the “unethical” Ashley Madison as Noel is. Perhaps, he hoped to just fade into oblivion once he sold out to Avid Life Media. No matter, let’s give credit where credit is due. It was Darren Morgenstern who initially claimed fame with AshleyMadison.com.
