Married Dating
Is The Ashley Madison Agency Unethical?
10:57 by admin · 26 Comments
A while back, I did a review of the Ashley Madison Agency dating web site.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Ashley Madison Agency, it is a web site that caters to a growing dating niche…married dating”. Yes, married people are dating!
“The Gill Deacon Show”, a Canadian talk show, did an interview with Darren Morgenstern, the owner of AshleyMadison.com and one of his clients. Both were attempting to justify their involvement with the site.
I found the video interesting, but what I found even more interesting were the comments below the video – proof that human beings are “de-evolving”! Judging from the intelligent responses, it is obvious that humans are losing their powers of reasoning and the ability to articulate.
Watch the video and don’t forget to read those comments. Perhaps you will want to add your own two cents worth to a thread that displays our unique ability to form a rational opinion and eloquently put it into words.
Wow! The power of speech is a gift bestowed upon man but sometimes I honestly believe the world would be a better place if we were all mute!
Why are we so “hot and bothered” by the Ashley Madison Agency? People are outraged that Darren Morgenstern is turning a profit by “pimping infidelity”.
Is it any more opportunistic or unethical than an attorney defending a client he knows is guilty? If lawyers were not unethical, there would be no defense for criminals. Now that may be a good thing but it’s never going to happen!
Finding a need and “filling it” is the “American way“. We are a self-indulged, greedy, impatient culture.
The [tag-tec]Ashley Madison Agency[/tag-tec] didn’t invent cheating. The owner has followed the model for a profitable business – he has found a need and filled it.
Perhaps, this married dating site isn’t such a bad thing after all. Look at it this way. People are going to cheat whether the site (and many others like it) exists or not. But, by providing cheaters with their own platform to seek out other “like minded” individuals are we not “keeping them off the streets” so-to-speak?
If cheaters are “hooking up” with other cheaters, they aren’t out there tempting your faithful husband or wife who may be vulnerable if presented with the right set of circumstances! In a sense, the [tag-ice]cheaters[/tag-ice] are only destroying their own two families instead of a possible four!
See? There are always two sides to every story don’t you think?

Beautiful Enslavement
You may say it’s not THAT bad, but it IS pretty sad when a majority of us have been raised/taught that marriage should be honored. This company is promoting cheating, it’s all about the $$$$$$. this world only turns for MONEY! If you want to have sex with the whole town, fine, but don’t get married. Don’t destroy your spouse’s life and children’s life because of your ignorance. Don’t be sneaky…
While the Ashley Madison Agency is interesting, in time married dating networks won’t exist solely in these highly expensive pay sites but instead will be free-to-use social networks, like our new free married dating site at http://ad.ultero.us
“Finding a need and filling it”? You can’t be serious! Since when is cheating on someone you’ve vowed to be faithful to a *need*? Food, water and shelter are needs. If a person wants to sleep around, they have no business making promises of fidelity to anyone, especially when you consider the devastation it inflicts on an innocent person whose only “wrong-doing” is trusting a lying piece of human trash.
What? There’s even a question as to whether the A.M.A is unethical or not?
A lot of married couples out there have children, and do you actually expect children to weigh out the pros and cons of cheating and not cheating? When their parents break up it’s always a bad thing and affects them for the rest of their lives. Nevermind children; what happened to self-control? Can’t believe the owner of A.M.A is actually making money from infidelity, broken homes, broken trust, broken children.
And then you wonder ‘where is the love? where is the trust?’ Ironic…
Darren Morganstern is not promoting cheating…he is promoting a business. He has found a unique idea, and caters to the thousands and thousands of men and women who are willing to have an extramarital affair. Dating or having sexual relations outside of marriage while you are married is not against the law (didn’t it used to be? I don’t think so anymore…at least not enforced, obviously). Who are we to get on our soapboxes and preach to people how they should conduct themselves within their marriage, and sexually. Morganstern isn’t pimping out prostitutes or selling drugs or doing anything harmful, he is only providing a service. I think his idea is amusing and I give him two thumbs up. People have demanded it…and, (this is NOT greed, people), he is making a profit. I think that is honorable and creative. So many people like to say that they are “non-judgemental”, but react so passionately and negatively towards things like this! “Live and let Live….”
Please, can you PM me and tell me few more thinks about this, I am really fan of your blog…
I read your thoughts and decide to take the plunge into the world of Ashley Madison. First I searched google for “affair tips” to make sure I wasn’t going to get caught and then away I went.
I was swamped with emails from many willing men. It was a bit flustering at first but once I re-vamped my ad and was a little more honest about what I was looking for, I found it.
As wrong as it may seem, my marriage is much better now. Tolerable even!
Although marriage (especially in the US, UK, Canada, etc.) has been defined solely as a strict monogamous bond between two loved ones, people get married with their own interpretations of what binds them together in “holy matrimony”. Is that so wrong?
To sit and judge what marriage has evolved into ISN’T in any way reaching an end to a rational or logical standpoint; especially onto that which an opinion is at bias toward conventional thinking and common standards. Attacking the the basis that is heavily subjective upon opinions does not solve an issue that deals with tradition or ethics, it only aids the understanding or misunderstanding for that matter.
A true rational analysis upon such matters is to conclude with the simple notion of help vs harm. Can help or harm society as a whole. This orginization helps many swingers find a new outlet and remain amongst themselves in the swingers community. Will this ultimately lead to taboo so supported that the world will turn upside down? o_0
So what marriage, to so many, has made a change — this is simply history repeating itself. Like other animals, human beings have the choice to settle with one mate or move onto others. I choose to be married to one woman, doesn’t mean I find swingers outrageous. Some others just want more. Most people do as well but either fear jeapordizing their relationship or finds that their mate objects to having relations with others.
Now to judge this business as an exploitation of “freaknicks” for the sake of profit is another argument, but a good one to say the least.
This business isn’t forcing anyone to make choices, only tempting. I have no intention on using semantics to teeter a point into sounding logical or rational. My points are simple and can be backed by rational responses hard to argue.
Is waving a crack bag in the face of someone in rehab fair? Most likely not, yet this business is nothing along that line hypothetically speaking. Yes, people can get hurt with this business but dubbing it as an overall harm to society is unfair to the parties who truly benefit collectively from such a organization. This organization is in no comparison to something harmful like drugs or exploitation.
Not everyone’s wants or needs are justified and people have the ability to make good or bad decisions. However, that alone SHOULD be the basis of what harm can be caused upon society — not this business.
I choose to sacrifice my promiscuity to be with someone whom I love dearly. Although this business temps me, I know I have the conscious decision to either remain sacrificial or declare change with my spouse honestly and truthfully.
I respect swingers for their freedom and liberation from conventional realms of acceptance. I think people should get a grip and pull through this blocked mode of thinking. I’m not preaching nihilism, but I at least support rationale and logical thinking. Instead of analyzing the fruits of the trees, start analyzing the people that plant them.
Is it wrong to be involved sexually with someone other than your spouse? The simple answer is, only if either party among the affair is negatively affected — which is usually caused by confusion or deceit.
I won’t say religious ideologies or shear ethics have nothing to do with the judgment of this business. Even though both are too inconsistent and subjective to be feasible or credible sources to measure, they may be the basis upon which one may approach this issue. If you want to hold onto those notions by all means go for it. Yet at least try and consider, with clarity, a distinguishing fact that sets this business apart from the already controversial decisions made by millions who have or will partake in such actions.
Most issues of sex affairs could be avoided if all parties carefully consented among one another and everyone is honest.
“not promoting cheating”? the man has found a way to make it easier to do, and to make other cheaters more available. if i sold drugs would i not be promoting drug use for the same reasons? Cheating is hurtful, and certainly deceitful, qualities that could hardly be called honorable. If his website promotes such dishonorable qualities then how can he be called “honorable” for creating it? yes, he may certainly be a successful businessman, but successful does not equal ethical. This is a place to discuss, it is a sad tactic to call any with an opposing view “judgmental”. Did you not freely give your opinion? then perhaps you might respect others for theirs.
I like the way you make your argument, very articulate. Will this business turn society into a filthy cesspool of evil? probably not but it does contribute, even if in a relatively small way, to lies and dishonesty.
now did the Romans always feed slaves to the lions for their amusement? No. But they certainly reached that point didn’t they? probably little by little.
What a bullcrap argument. Saying that people are going to cheat anyway so you miht as well facilitate it is a ridiculous, antirational argument. I could just as easily say we need to give murderers and rapists a healthy platform to express themelves in their legitimate alternative lifstyles, and not opress them in their healthy desires to fulfil their potential. What a load of crap. I haven’t had a hard time staying faithful to my wife in over a decade.
its nothing personal its just business.
now if you’ll excuse me I have to cheat on my wife and kids since its just a business you understand. Im sure my family if they ever find out (why I might fall in love with my mistress and divorce my wife) will understand. It wont have any effect on my son and daughter once I explain that daddy was just partaking of business.
Last time I heard this kind of argument was from my uncle in Queens. He was invloved in ‘business’ too kapeesche?
I could make the point that, 30 years ago the entire agency would be shut down by various states for the crime of adultery. Adultery is against the law and is still on the books in many states, but has not been enforced for the aforementioned 30 years. It could be, but I think the attitude was: so what, my marriage is ruined anyway, what good does it do to give money to a sleazy lawyer so I can make my spouse pay a fine?
The fact is that Hollywood, the govt, and the state-run media have devalued marriage to the point that hardly anyone respects it outside of legal financial (spouse gets half on divorce) grounds.
Marriage has now become just a sham for people to pretend they’re normal, upright family people rather than the sex-crazed lunatics that they are.
Maybe we should stop worshiping sex and start worshiping the God that enabled us to have all these freedoms in this country to begin with. Then we wouldn’t have as many infidelity problems that break up marriages and make life unstable and difficult for children.
I am outraged by this site. Never heard of it until someone signed me and my boyfriend up without our knowledge. Then low and behold I started getting some emails. I couldn’t believe what i found when I went there. A site that promotes cheating? I can’t even believe these people can walk around boasting about such a horrible event! i think I even threw up in my mouth. I will sign any ban or protest against it.
I see many posts and arguments here about faithfulness to Marriage, which I completely agree with.
However, within those vows are words like love and cherish. Sex IS a part of loving someone, so therefore if Love is a NEED for you, then sex is often a NEED as well.
When you find that your non-sexual/asexual spouse is denying that MAJOR part of Love, then you should try to look within yourself or your spouse to figure out what the problem is FIRST. BUT if the problem is not resolved to an acceptable level, I can see the NEED to cheat coming up as a viable option. As bad as that sounds, so does dealing with a non-sexual Marriage for the rest of your life.
Personally, I blame Hollywood for cheapening the act of Marriage. It’s been reduced to a publicity stunt or business deal at best these days, and it sickens me.
Are you Serious? when it comes to the law… a marriage is a contract. if I enter ANY contract and someone provokes me to break that contract, well its conspiracy. This is plain and simple.
on another note, I’m not religious, in fact I’m agnostic, but somehow the thought of this company makes me think of something evil (and I mean it… it gives me the creeps) a satanic way of destroying long term happiness for $$$$ in the companies pockets.
I don’t blame the guy that developed this site, he is after the “all important” dollar that America is so in love with these days. What is sad though is the fact that this site will do very well for itself. I think that it is sick and wrong that society has slipped so far that infidelity can be made into a profitable business. I feel sorry for my future children that I will have to explain to them why society is so screwed up and how to grow up to be and honorable man or woman.
I heard about this site on the radio today and wondered who and what the hell it was all about, so did a google. I thought it was some fashionable thing…only caught bits of it, anyway I digress. Cheating on one’s spouse has been going on since humans have been going on…like it or not, people are going to get hurt, whether sites like this are available or not. You’d be better off trying to herd cats than ever stop people cashing in on people’s addictions all for a 3 second muscle spasm….I must be getting old, because once upon a time I would’ve thought it was xmas that some naughty site like this popped up, I’d be right in there. Fortunately for me I’ve been on the receiving end of cheating and on the other side as well, both sucked balls so to speak. The excitement of it all now I just can’t be bothered. There maynot be strings attached, but it always come at a price and that is someone get hurts and someone loses…guilt also is a major bitch. But live and let live, whatever rocks your boat…Not for me, I love my DH, would like to kill everyother day, however when the shyte hits the fan with real life issues, it kinder beats getting your rocks off with a stranger…my opinion only
