Princess Diana and Prince Charles – A Royal Screw Up

It goes without saying that this week marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana.
However, while everyone is busy watching the likes of TLC’s “Diana – Last Days of a Princess,” “Lifetime’s “The Murder of Princess Diana” and Geraldo Rivera’s “Death of Diana – Unanswered Questions,” I find myself wondering how it ever came to this.
How could two people, supposedly in love (“whatever that means” – quoting Prince Charles) screw things up so royally (pardon the pun!)?
- Could it have been the age difference? He was 32, she was a 19 year old nanny. What on earth did they have in common?
- Could it have been that Diana was an insecure, child-like woman who needed emotional support and reassurance that her distant husband could not or would not provide?
- Could it have been Diana’s insecurities about her ability to “measure up” to the tasks that being “HRH” demanded?
- Could it have been self doubt fueled by the continued shadow of Prince Charles’ not-so-ex-love, Camilla Parker Bowles? (Apparently Charles isn’t one of those “visual” guys!)
- Could jealousy over Diana’s growing popularity have been the driving force behind Charles’ desire to be reincarnated as Camilla’s tampon? Geez…how very tacky is that coming from the man who would be king?
Whatever the reasons for their failed relationship, both Princess Diana and Prince Charles handled it miserably!
What on earth did either of them have to gain by publicly admitting to adultery?
You know, members of the monarchy have been having adulterous affairs throughout history. It’s nothing new.
Had Charles and Diana not been embroiled in a tug-of-war for public sympathy and approval, I believe that they could have kept their marriage intact while enjoying the company of others.
Sure, the public would have speculated about their affairs and the tabloids would have reported them, true or otherwise. But, would the fallout from suspected cheating have been any worse than a public admission of infidelity?
It was no wonder people began to question just who Prince Harry’s father was! He did look an awfully lot like Diana’s lover, Major James Hewitt.
I think that had these two people been willing to talk to each other instead of the press, Diana would be alive today.
They could have raised their sons together, maintained a positive and united public agenda and…played well with others after dark!
Instead, we are left with a barrage of crappy television shows speculating as to whether or not Diana was murdered.
Why can’t we just let go?
Perhaps as Geraldo Rivera said, she was so grand that we just cannot accept that fact that she succumbed to something as common and ordinary as a [tag-tec]drunk driving[/tag-tec] accident.
But, maybe that’s really all there is to it.

I don’t think it’s all that difficult to sort out what went wrong between Charles and Diana. Charles was never in love with Diana who was clearly besotted with Charles. Charles was always emotionally attached if not physicially, to Camilla, before and during his marriage to Diana. In frustration, Diana turned to other men for what Charles refused to provide (and promised before God to provide) to Diana.
For my money, Charles is entirely at fault. He took advantage of a young, innocent Diana. He married her knowing full well his heart below to Camilla. He committed adultery behind Diana’s back during his marriage to her.
He is nothing short of a liar and a shameful bounder (to put it in the English vernacular).
I think that Charles only married Diana to provide an heir to the throne. What a stupid little man. Diana loved him and all he had to do, regardless of their age difference, was to love her with all his heart. What kind of a hold did Camilla have on him and why? Her husband finally saw the handwriting on the wall and divorced her a** I understand he is now remarried – good for him. Charles is not a very bright man is he? They deserve each other.
What anger’s so many people over the death of Princess Diana is how the royal family treated her. From the time she moved in Clarence House to the time she died. What everyone saw was the royal family took horrid advantage of an innocent and young girl and then when she became an inconvience they killed her. It was not simply an accident. People do not drop dead over a ‘simple’ accident and there are not so many many unanswered questions. You know..if Diana crossed the line with the royal family and there was an unwritten rule that’mess with the royal family and you might pay with your life..then ‘ok’ but darn it DON’T involve innocent lives ..don’t send a man to his death (driver) and lie about him so his family will suffer all their day’s. Just don’t kill other’s to get at her. All the lies said about the whole sordid accident that we ‘sheeple are expected to accept ticks me off.
Diana was meant to be an innocent little queen’, but he could not keep her pant on, could she? If you come nowhere and became a princess, you should know your life down earth will change and should avt with class. Too late for a street girl called Diana, she had pay for her sins with terrible tragedy.
Charles is a creep how dare he take advantage of a sweet 19 year old girl lie to her saying “I love you” and then to marry her in a Church and with all the promises of we will be together always only to be cheating on her always with the Ugly Camilla I mean she is so gross she was married to so that is two marriage’s busted up because of them Diana did so much for everyone she could and went above and beyond what most people did God Bless her and if Charles and Camilla had not came into her life and ruined it maybe we would still be blessed to have her with us !!! Charles had NO right to be a King he is scum!!!
