I realize that this article has absolutely nothing to do with cheating, but, it is something I need to do anyway.

My heart has been very heavy this week with Monday's breaking news on the recall of
all "cuts and gravy" foil pack and canned pet foods manufactured by Menu Foods.

From the PetConnection.com database. March 22/07 6 a.m. PT:

* Total reports of sick or dead pets: 1529
* Deceased pets: 769

Of those:

* Cats, deceased: 460
* Dogs, deceased: 309

I too, have lost three of my five "furry family members" to this atrocity! Fuddpucker, Mama Kitty and Mr. Pudd - your friendship is missed everyday! May my two remaining companions, Lil'Shit and Dippy be spared. Each, was very different and each was/is loved much!

To err is human. I am sure no one intended to poison our pets. Unfortunately the lies and deceit frequently used to cover our asses, are also human traits. Accepting responsibility for our mistakes has never been a human "strong suit"!

The Menu Foods Recall will undoubtedly result in a class action lawsuit that will drag on for years. Sadly, the lawyers will gain fame and money, the pet owners will get free pet food coupons.

Reimburse pet owners for their veterinary and pet food bills and the price of replacing their pet? What price can you put on a pet unless it is a purebred for show? My pets are/were all strays that wandered into my life. I value them no less than I would had I paid a price for them.

The true value of any pet is the relationship that you have with them! No price can be put on that. It cannot be reimbursed!

To every animal and owner affected by this tragedy…you are in my prayers! I truly am sorry, for myself and for you.
