The Death Of Anna Nicole Smith
![]() |
The news of Anna Nicole Smith's death today was startling.
In honesty, I was not a fan.
I think she made some tacky choices in life but, then, who am I to judge? I just figured she was a bit further out in "left field" than most.
I was never clear on exactly what her "claim to fame" was. To her credit, she was a Playboy centerfold, a Guess jeans model, the bride of 89 year old oil tycoon, Howard Marshall, and the star of her own reality-show which in my opinion was a complete and utter waste of good air time. She, like many others was famous for being famous.
I have no desire to speak ill of the dead. It is a distasteful practice that serves no purpose. She can no longer defend herself.
I just think that the life and death of Anna Nicole Smith showcases the dark side of human nature. Obsessions, compulsions and greed drive the human race and I believe it will be our inevitable downfall.
I think the deaths of both Anna Nicole and her son Daniel in likeness were untimely and so unnecessary. All that can be said is that it is very sad.
Unfortunately, Anna leaves behind little but a legal nightmare. Lawsuits, a paternity suit, and the battle for a portion of her deceased millionaire husband's estate all remain unresolved.
The real tragedy in this story is a 5 month old baby girl named Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. She is a tiny victim destined to be caught in the tragic web that her mother has weaved. She will be the object of court battles and fodder for the press for years to come.
I hope fate will be kinder to her.
